THE COMPLEX OF TUMULI 9, 10 and 11 in the NECROPOLIS of APOLLONIA (ALBANIA) by Maria Grazia Amore
On April 20, 2010 in the hall “Aleks Buda” of the Academy of Sciences was held the promotion of the new publication of the ICAA Monograph Series
Changes were brought to the “Cultural Heritage Law”
Recently some important changes were brought to the “Cultural Heritage Law” approved in 2003.
During the last 10 years over one hundred students have been trained in field projects. The training consists in both excavation and survey techniques, depending on the nature of the projects. Moreover, students take actively part in the making of the documentation and in the processing of the finds, and some of them in the phases of publication, so that they have a complete picture of all the aspects of the archaeological work.
The members of ICAA in the last years are also actively involved in teaching at the University of Tirana, in the History department. The next goal is the creation of an Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management department, and some steps have already been made towards this achievement.
The classes taught at the University by the ICAA members span from “Archaeology of pre-urban societies” to “Archaeology of urban societies”, to “History of Archaeological thought”, to “Ancient technologies”, to “Methods and Theory in archaeology”, to “Principles of Heritage Conservation”, to “Management planning for Cultural Heritage”, etc. More details
