On April 20, 2010 in the hall “Aleks Buda” of the Academy of Sciences was held the promotion of the new publication of the ICAA Monograph Series
Changes were brought to the “Cultural Heritage Law”
Recently some important changes were brought to the “Cultural Heritage Law” approved in 2003.
The newly established Group for Archaeological Debate has started a Seminar Series that will mainly focus on theoretical and methodological discussions, as well as current developments and approaches in the archaeological studies in Albania. One important goal of the Series is to encourage debate within, and cohesion between members of the archaeological community in the country, regardless of their institutional affiliation. |

On November 16th 2006 started the new season of seminar series (2006-2007) of the Group for Archaeological Debate. Every other Thursday, at 18.00 o’clock, in the library of ICAA the presentations will focus on theoretical and methodological discussions in the archaeological studies in Albania and beyond. Participation is open to everyone interested. The organizer group welcomes every suggestion on topics to be discussed. |

On March 23rd, 2006 Gëzim Hoxha presented the topic: “Archaeological aspects of the Christianization in the late Antiquity: the Province of Praevalis”. This presentation opened interesting discussions on a field chronologically very different from the previous seminars. The speaker provided a concise, but very informative overview of the data from the late Roman and early Medieval periods from the Praevalis Province. A great number of settlement and cemetery sites of the region were illustrated and put in a wider context. The data presentation was followed by the advance of a number of thought-provoking conclusions and generalizations for the whole Albania in the late Antiquity. |
